"All my ribs broke and penetrated my lungs," said Kyuhyun on his special guesting for the variety show "My Little Old Boy," which is about looking back and reminiscing how a little boy transformed into a young adult.

On December 22, his episode aired and during the filming, he shared about his tragedy as a man, and how he overcomes that difficulty with the help of his parents.

It was an unfortunate year last 2007, where Cho Kyuhyun, member of the Korean global star band Super Junior, was involved in an accident, together with other members Leeteuk, Shindong, and Eunhyuk, just two years after their debut.

Looking back at their story, Kyuhyun was sitting at the back of the driver's seat when the car's tire suddenly burst, making their driver lose control over the vehicle, which caused them to flip over and over. According to the police investigation, the problem isn't only the tire itself but overspeeding of the driver as well.

Leeteuk, Shindong, and Eunhyuk were hurt, but Kyuhyun was the one who has suffered severely. He was seen 20 to 30 meters away from the car, and during his interview, he can't feel his body anymore.

Meanwhile, after being brought to the hospital, his bones were tremendously broken, which even caused his coma for four days.

According to Kyuhyun, "I was in a huge car accident 12 years ago, and was in a coma for four days."

He also added, "The doctor said that surgery is needed but has to cut his throat to put a hose." If this decision is made, he will survive. However, his singing career will end. During that year, it was the transition period of the group throughout their success, and this would be a risky decision.

Thus, after Kyuhyun's father heard about this condition, he immediately talked with Kyuhyun's doctor, Dr. Wang Youngpil, and pleaded him to look for another way or surgery for his son to survive.

Kyuhyun's father said, "My son is a singer. Taking his voice is similar to taking his dreams. I can't entirely agree with that."

Due to this, the other alternate surgery has been done, making an incision on the idol's ribs for him to breathe more comfortable and much better.

After the successful surgery, Kyuhyun has to stay in the hospital for a few months. He was transported from the Emergency room into a regular hospital.

Though Kyuhyun has to face another problem, due to the accident, he can't walk. Nevertheless, through his family, friends, and fans' support, he was able to stand up and walk again after a month.

On the other hand, Kyuhyun shared on the show how he was thankful, just grateful to his father for making that decision, wherein aside from his wellbeing, he also does think about what will be his life after surviving the accident.

He was also thankful to his mother, who has never left his side for about four months after the accident, as he was recuperating and recovering.
