Knetz Praise BLACK VELVET Members for Gaining Individual Success and Popularity

BLACK Velvet domination! For those who aren't familiar with the name "Black Velvet," this is an unofficial K-pop group name coined by fans and K-pop enthusiasts to shorten BLACKPINK x Red Velvet group names. This is due to some fans desiring a collaboration from the two of the largest K-pop girl groups in the industry-which is really thrilling to see!

Hence, some fans are proving the chemistry between the two groups, and why collaboration should really happen. On July 1, Knetz praised and proved the popularity of BLACK VELVET on an online Korean community site.

According to the title of the post, BLACKPINK and Red Velvet are the groups wherein every member stands out on their own, having individual popularity in the general public. 

In the post, the writer also presents each member's individual achievements, including being an ambassador to top brands and milestones as a singer and model.

IRENE

Starting with Red Velvet's Irene, the "original visual" idol is not only a leader, main rapper, vocalist, visual, and center, but she's also popular as an MC. She became an MC on Music Bank along park Bogum, as well in the TV Show, "Laundry Day." 

She also hosted several music festivals, including Music Bank World Tour in Singapore and Jakarta. Irene is also an actress, debuting as Areum in web drama, "The Female Employees of a Game Company." As an endorser, she had collaborated with over 17 brands, such as Damiani, Clinique, Swarovski, Hyundai, Nike, and many more.

SEULGI

The main dancer of Red Velvet, Seulgi, can also survive as an individual as well due to her incredible talent. She proves that despite her being a dancer, she's also a good singer when she released K-drama OST "You, Just Like That," and "Always" for Blade and Soul and The Crowned Clown respectively. Also, she gained respect from Knetz as well when she joined "King of Mask Singer" as "Cinema Heaven."Seulgi also acts in musical, wherein she played as Dorothy for "School Oz."

WENDY

It is not a secret that Wendy has a golden voice! Due to this, she was able to collaborate with John Legend and sing Korean drama soundtracks for popular drama, D-Day's "Let You Know," The Beauty Inside's "Goodbye," and Touch Your Heart's What if Love." Through "What if Love," she was able to bag the award for "Top 10 Asia- Pacific Gold Song of the Year."

JOY

Joy is not only a rapper, vocalist, and dancer but an actress, too. In 2017, she starred in the K-drama Adaptation of "The Liar and His Lover," where she sang five official solo soundtracks, including "I'm Okay" and "Shiny Boy." She also starred for "Tempted," along with Actor Woo Do Hwan.

Joy is currently the ambassador of Aveda and Espoir. 

YERI

The youngest member of Red Velvet established her own career as a soloist as well. During the release of SM Station 3, "Dear Diary," it was revealed that that idol works on composing and writing the song, one of the first members to produce a song through SM Station.

This 2020, Yeri was chosen as the ambassador of COLLETE and APRIL SKIN Korea and is currently hosting her own talk show, "Yeri's Show."

JISOO

The BLACKPINK's main visual and eldest member is not just pure beauty but also an incredible all-rounder. She was once an MC for SBS Inkigayo, and a talented actress as well. She debuts through a cameo in "The Producer" along Sandara Park and later on made a buzz when she appears in 'Arthdal Chronicles," along with Song Joong Ki. Before debut, she also appeared as a trainee in Epik High's MV and Suhyun's MV. 

Recently, the luxury brand also chose her as its global ambassador. 

JENNIE

Another all-rounder from BLACKPINK, Jennie established her name as a soloist when she debuted as a solo singer through her first single, "SOLO," wherein she bags two awards, including "Digital Bonsang" for 2020 Golden Disk Awards.

Just like Jisoo, Jennie also captures Korean netizens when she was featured on Lee Hi's "Special" MV, Seungri's "GG Be," and G-Dragon's "BLACK" in 2013. As a young child, she also had her special documentary titled, "Jennie Kim MBC Special Documentary."

ROSÉ

The main vocalist of BLACKPINK is finally the global ambassador of Yves Saint Laurent! This is just evidence that Rosé also excels as an individual member, both in music and fashion. When Bang Yedam releases his solo, "Wayo," netizens praise the idol more for her unique voice color leading them to demands YGE to have her own songs, giving her more opportunities to be in line for her solo album, expected to be this year. 

LISA

Lisa is indeed one of the busiest members even before their debut! In 2013, she appeared in Taeyang's MV for "Ringa," while from 2014 to 2018, she shoots for NONA9ON commercials. In 2017, she released her own "LISA TV," with three episodes. 

Meanwhile, in 2020, her opportunity in China became massive, giving her the chance to be chosen as a mentor for "Youth with You," 2020. She also became one of the proprietors to endorse Chinese brands, including Downy China and HuaguoQingru Yogurt. Recently, AIS also announced her commercial with Got7 Bambam.
