Dollar Shave Club: Company Launches 'One Wipe Charlie' Butt Wipes, Delivering Sanitary Cloths To Homes For $4 Per Month

Dollar Shave Club, a subscription-based service that delivers razor blades to homes for $1 per month, announced that it will also begin delivering butt wipes for $4 per month.

Science, Inc., the Los Angeles company that owns Dollar Shave Club, released a humorous video on Tuesday promoting its newest service.

"Nothing we do is an accident," Science, Inc. CEO Michael Dubin told TechCrunch.

"It's funny to talk about, but it was derived from research. We wanted to understand the products that guys use in the bathroom and where they want to see improvement."

The purpose of the wipes, dubbed "One Wipe Charlies," is to alleviate customers from having to "replenish an often-used, always-overpriced staple," Dubin told TechCrunch.

For $4 per month, a 40 pack of One Wipe Charlies is delivered to a home - one wipe alone can completely clean someone's behind, according to Science, Inc.

The company also reports that 51 percent of men already use wipes and that although only 16 percent use them in place of toilet paper, the convenience of delivery at an affordable price will lure more customers in.

"We certainly think the Dollar Shave Club experience is more fun than going to the store," Dubin said told TechCrunch.

Dollar Shave Club currently has about 200,000 active members, Dubin also told TechCrunch.

Science, Inc. is well known for its humorous campaign videos promoting several of its services and expects to further expand its product line.

The group is also backed by firms like Venrock, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Beyers and Andreessen Horowitz, according to TechCrunch.
