Google Glass 2013 Update: High-Quality Photos Captured With AR Lens Include Captions

As Google Glass updates the AR lens’ capabilities every month, the newest feature includes the ability to take higher quality images and add captions to them.

According to Engadet, fans who love taking POV shots can take better pictures by capturing a sequence of images for improved low-light performance and HDR pictures in bright situations.

In a Google+ post, the company wrote, “You no longer have to be afraid of the dark; it'll detect low light situations and automatically capture a brighter, sharper picture. It'll also automatically take HDR pictures in bright scenes.”

Another featue of the Google Glass software update is that it “works even in tough situations where ther are moving subjects.”

The company also showcased a number of images taken with Glass in hi-resolution.

The second update on the device is the ability to add captions via a prompt that can add a caption after you take a picture.

User can tap their headset, say the caption and it’s automatically inserted in the images.

“So now, when sharing a photo, you’ll see a message inviting you to add a caption,” wrote Project Glass, the Google team in-charge of the lens’ updates.

“When you see this, simply tap the touchpad, speak your caption, and voilà! A captioned photo is born.”

The Project Glass team updates the lens’ software every month and uses the hashtag #glassupdates on Twitter to promote new developments.

Prior to the monthly update announcement, Google issued an edict banning sexually explicit material.

The company added to its developer policies late last week prohibiting apps from delivering sexually explicit content, according to CNN.

The policy update came right after adult entertainment company MiKandi released the first, and now probably only, pornographic app for the AR lens.
