What Do Selma Blair And Katy Perry Have In Common? Getting Bad News Through Text

Selma Blair and Katy Perry have something in common, and that's breaking bad news via text. Charlie Sheen let Selma Blair know that she was being fired from their show "Anger Management" through an explicit text, and Katy Perry received a text message from Russell Brand telling her he wanted a divorce.

Sheen reportedly got his co-star Selma Blair fired after she complained about his work ethic, according to Fox News Latino.

Deadline TV reports that Sheen sent Blair a text, calling her a "c***" before telling her that she was being cut from "Anger Management," an FX sitcom.

The rumors were confirmed Tuesday night when Lionsgate TV studio released a statement saying, "We are confirming that Selma Blair will not be returning to Anger Management and we wish her the very best."

Sheen hasn't commented on the news.

This week, Katy Perry revealed to Vogue magazine that her former husband Russell Brand told her he wanted a divorce via text message, and she hasn't seen or spoken to him since the divorce.

"He's a very smart man, a magical man and I was in love with him when I married him," she said. "Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."

Luckily, both women seem strong and resilient amid the less-than-sensitive treatment by Sheen and Brand.

Since the news broke, Blair was simply tweeted "I thank you for support and love."

According to an E! News source, Blair "really had no problem leaving after Charlie flew off the handle and seems to be at peace to be off the show."

And Perry has moved on - she's been spotted with on-and-off boyfriend John Mayer, and most recently it was confirmed that they are definitely an item again, E! News reports.
