C9 Entertainment Confirms Bae Jinyoung's Departure From CIX + Group To Promote As 4 Members

Bae Jinyoung has left the K-pop boy group CIX according to an official statement from C9 Entertainment. Following the announcement, netizens shared their reactions in an online thread.

Earlier on August 4, Korean news outlet TenAsia released an exclusive report detailing the departure of former CIX member Bae Jinyoung from the group. 

According to sources, the idol decided not to renew his exclusive contract with C9 Entertainment, and after a lengthy discussion, the decision to terminate the contract was ultimately made.

The news was eventually confirmed by C9 Entertainment the following day, on August 5, when the company released a statement on Bae Jinyoung's departure. The official statement revealed that the exclusive contract with Bae Jinyoung was terminated on August 1.

C9 Entertainment then thanked Bae Jinyoung for his dedication as a CIX member and asked for everyone's unwavering support for his fresh start. As a result, CIX will now continue its promotions as a four-membered act with BX, Seunghun, Yonghee, and Hyunsuk.

The agency then revealed that CIX was preparing a new album, which will be released in the second half of 2024, and more performances are to be showcased soon. C9 then asked about fans' anticipation of CIX's upcoming activities.

We would like to inform you about the future activities of CIX. 

First of all, we want to let you know that we have decided to terminate our exclusive contract with Bae Jinyoung as of August 1, 2024. 

We would like to express our gratitude to Bae Jinyoung for his hard work as a member of CIX and we ask for your continued support as he embarks on a new chapter. CIX will now proceed with their activities with four members BX, Seunghun, Yonghee, and Hyunsuk.

They are currently preparing for a new album to be released in the second half of the year (2024), along with various performances. We sincerely thank all the fans for their unwavering support and love for CIX. We ask for your continued interest and affection for CIX's future activities.

Bae Jinyoung introduced the K-pop scene with Wanna One in 2017. After concluding his activities with the project boy group, which was formed through "Produce 101 Season 2," the idol re-debuted with CIX in 2019.
