Sullyoon Raises Discussion If She Really Deserves a Spot in 'JangKaSull' Visual Troika—NSWERs Defend Idol 

The position of NMIXX Sullyoon in the current generation's "visual troika" drew debate, but NSWERs immediately defended the idol.

In the K-pop scene, a "visual troika" is born in every era. This trio comprised era-defining female idols who are leading in popularity, work, amount of CF ads, and more, according to The Korea Herald.

In the second-gen, there was "YoonA-Suzy-Sulli," while in the third-gen, "Irene-Jisoo-Tzuyu" dominated. 

For the 4th-gen then, "JangKaSull," which is composed of IVE Jang Wonyoung, aespa Karina, and NMIXX Sullyoon was established.

On Sept. 29th, netizens, however, raised their brows and questioned if Sullyoon really deserved her spot in the troika. 

Other names such as ITZY Yuna, (G)I-DLE Miyeon, and NewJeans Minji were being mentioned as idols more fitting for the position, as they are not only visuals, but their popularity was also more known than Sullyoon. 

In the Brand Reputation Index rankings, Karina and Wonyoung topped the list as No.1 and No.2, respectively. However, the NMIXX member ranked 47th place, not even in the top 10.

Also, some fans are skeptical if her goddess-like beauty is enough to secure her seat, especially following her viral photos which sparked discussion if she really has natural beauty or not.

• "JangKa is ranked first and second in brand reputation, but Sullyoon ranked 47th. Why do you keep linking someone with no name recognition to them?"
• "Is Sullyoon really like that in person?"

When this criticism reached NSWERs, the fandom of NMIXX, they jumped in Sullyoon's defense, pointing out the real definition of the visual troika.

• "Isn't this a nickname made by putting the prettiest idols together, not by their grades? Sullyoon is pretty."
• "It's just like a gathering of the prettiest girls of that generation, and at first it was called Jang-Yu-Sull (Wonyoung, Yuna, and Sullyoon) but now it's called JangKaSull. Why is her reputation coming up? She's only listed based on her face."
