BIGBANG is reportedly performing at the 2024 MAMA Awards, and VIPs are rejoicing!

On October 5, various news outlets revealed that the legendary group's current members G-Dragon, Daesung, and Taeyang will grace the stage of the forthcoming MAMA Awards, which will be held in November in Los Angeles and Japan.

As BIGBANG has been laying low from the music industry as a complete group, the news of their potential performance at this year's MAMA Awards triggers excitement in the K-pop community.

It will be recalled that the ceremony got the highest viewership rating of 4.9% in 2013, wherein BIGBANG was part of the lineup. The last time the group performed at MAMA was in 2015, in which the rating also soared to 3.2%.

The subsequent year's ceremony, however, plummeted to 1.2%. From 2016 to 2023, MAMA has failed to surpass the 2% bracket.

Now that BIGBANG is reported to perform as a group at the prestigious awarding ceremony, the K-pop industry anticipates not just the trio's performance but also the surge of viewership from its long-running stagnant phase.

Meanwhile, MNET has responded to the reports about the 2nd-generation icon's 2024 MAMA Awards performance. According to the network, "The lineup of artists attending the 2024 MAMA Awards has not yet been decided."

VIPs on X (formerly Twitter) also aired their doubts, and stated that they will only believe it if the current BIGBANG members—G-Dragon, Daesung, and Taeyang—will announce the news themselves.
