'The Long Ranger' Star Armie Hammer Enjoyed Knife Play During Sex But Prefers Laughing With Wife

Armie Hammer opened up to Elle Magazine before the premiere of The Lone Ranger on July 3rd, and in the profile he talked about being single and how life is better with his wife Elizabeth Chambers.

Hammer might play the upright Ranger who battles the evil American cavalry to help save frontier families--both Native-American ones and others--but in the interview with Elle, he did cop to some untoward behavior when he first got to Hollywood.

"I'd grown up in a household of so much love and so much good, everything just felt wholesome. Once I was on my own, I was like, Let's see how hot this candle can burn," said Hammer to Elle.

So for a few years he was drinking and drugging like the Hollywood life we all know, including staying up for night's on end and sleeping with a coterie of women that were in Hammer's opinion, "bad, bad news."

There was one incident he recalls that's a prime example, involving Hammer and a woman engaging in some serious bedroom behavior,

"One chick tried to stab me when we were having sex. I should so not be telling this story," but then Hammer does:

"She was like, 'True love leaves scars. You don't have any.' And then she tried to stab me with a butcher knife. Of course I promptly broke up with her," he says. "Seven months later."

Despite the hectic Hollywood lifestyle The Lone Ranger finally met his female lead in 2008.

Hammer started dating former model and television host, Elizabeth Chambers, that year after he convinced her to drop her louse of an ex-boyfriend.

Said Hammer, "I was like, 'You have to break up with your boyfriend because we have to start dating.' Her mouth kind of fell open. I said, 'You were made for me,' and she got this look on her face like"-Hammer launches into a girl's voice-" 'Don't you even.'

"I was like, 'Wait, wait! And I was made for you. We were made to be together.

"So we can do this 30 years from now, when I've gotten married a couple of times and you've gotten married a couple of times, or we can start now and end up 60 years from now sitting on a porch in rocking chairs, talking about how good an adventure the whole thing was.' "

Hammer and Chambers wed in 2010, and he's found marriage blissful despite his rocky adolescence in Hollywood.

"I like the idea of marriage. I like the idea that I have a best friend. It's just really comforting. I remember being single and trying to date, and it was just stressful and hard. It wasn't fun.

"This [meaning his marriage] is fun.

"I mean, not to be graphic, but you can have sex and in the middle just start laughing about something totally funny. You can't do that with someone you're dating; you're too nervous."

So Armie Hammer is The Lone Ranger, and he's blossomed into a pretty cool husband to Elizabeth Chambers.
