The Walking Dead News Update: 10th Anniversary Blowout At Comic Con, And Season 4 Spoilers

"The Walking Dead" fans have much to celebrate this year, with a 10-year anniversary in the works for Comic-Con International in San Diego, and season 4 well into production for its October premiere.

"It's hard to believe the growth and expansion 'The Walking Dead' has undergone since I began writing the comic 10 years ago," says creator Robert Kirkman according to the LA Times.

"This entire event is a thank-you to fans of 'The Walking Dead' universe."

Comic-con is scheduled to run from July 18 to July 21 at the San Diego Convention, and at the heart of it will be the hit franchise, with events like zombie costume contests, makeup stations, celebrity appearances, as well as a booth to play "The Walking Dead" video game.

A particularly popular event is called "The Walking Dead Escape," where participants ("survivors") are pitted against employees dressed up as walkers in an obstacle course.

Who knows, given it is the 10th anniversary, there might be a few surprises when next month arrives.

Fans of the AMC television series based off of the zombie phenomenon are waiting with bated breath as season 4 continues shooting, and FX makeup designer Greg Nicotero is teasing fans about the season premiere.

"In the first episode this season, one of the guys in my crew was like, 'You did every gag that you ever did in three years of 'The Walking Dead' in one episode,'" teased Nicotero, who also directed the premiere.

"We had walkers. We had mummified corpses. We had puppets. We had zombie bites..."

Uh oh. Does this mean one of our beloved survivors is biting the dust?
