Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are being very protective of their baby girl, North West, and reportedly were concerned that pictures of the newborn would leak to the media. So Kim and Kanye devised a plan to see who they could trust within their inner circle of friends.

Kimye sent photos they claimed were of North to their friends, but the pictures were in fact fake. According to The Mirror, six pictures were sent to half-dozen friends.

One of their friends betrayed their trust. According to TMZ, one tried to sell a picture for "a lot" of money.

Hollywood Life reports that Kim sent around a second fake photo to some other friends, and this was allegedly also shared with the media by one of her friends in hopes that they could land some money for it.

Kanye has frequently told the media that he is firmly against selling baby photos of North. Hollywood Life spoke to a source that said Kanye "doesn't want to make money" off of his baby.

According to TMZ, baby photos of North could be worth a few million dollars.

The Mirror also reports that Kim and Kanye will know the identity of their most-likely former friend who tried selling them out.

Meanwhile, Kardashian's mother Kris Jenner appeared on "Today" on Tuesday and talked to host Matt Lauer about pictures of her new granddaughter, Mercury News reports.

"I'd have to kill you if I showed you my cell phone," Jenner, 57, teased. "I'm erasing them all right after this."

"You'll have to tune in July 15," she said, referring to the premiere of her self-titled talk show on Fox. This may have been a clue that pictures of North West will have been officially released by then.
