Simon Cowell's 'America's Got Talent' To Invade Afghanistan In 2013: Foreign Military Soldiers May Audition?

Media guru Simon Cowell's company Syco Entertainment will reportedly launch "Afghanistan's Got Talent" this fall as the 55th iteration of the popular "Got Talent" franchise.

As a joint venture by Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia, the adaptation, "Afghanistan's Got Talent" will join the recent Brazil and Kazakhstan iterations to break a record as the most adapted talent show franchise of all time.

Hollywood Reporter reports that Afghanistan's regional channel 1TV Media will air the program later this year.

"Simon has always believed 'Got Talent' can work anywhere, because no matter where you are, people have amazing talents," says a source to The Sun.

"There may be a war raging in Afghanistan, but people are still living their lives and they enjoy watching TV just like anyone else."

And due to certain possible conflicts that may occur during the show's audition process, rumors are flying that Cowell wants foreign military soldiers to be able to audition.

"Rules are being drawn up but there is a possibility troops will be allowed to enter, assuming they can get permission," continues to source to The Sun.

As of now, the longest running "Got Talent" iterations include "America's Got Talent" at season 8, and "Britain's Got Talent" at season 7.
