‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie Cast News: Anastasia Steele Played By Emilia Clarke, Alexis Bledel, Or Jessica Pare?

"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie now has an official release date, but the cast is still not set in stone. Rumors abound regarding who will play the female lead, the character of Anastasia Steele.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" will hit theaters on August 1, 2014 Universal and Focus confirmed, according to Latinos Post.

Universal has announced Sam Taylor-Johnson as the director, but the cast is still to be determined.

Alexis Bledel, 31-year-old "Gilmore Girls" star, seems to be the strongest contender for the role of Anastasia, multiple media sources report.

According to CelebDirtyLaundry.com, a spokesperson for a bookmaker said, "We've seen a ton of money on Alexis Bledel and it's clear punters fancy her for the role - we'll be facing a spanking payout if she's tied down for the role."

Emilia Clarke, 26-year-old "Game of Thrones" star, is another name that has been thrown around for the role.

But the most recent celebrity to be named as in the running is "Mad Men's" Jessica Pare. In the TV series, Pare plays the role of a second wife, Megan, in "Mad Men" where she is paired up with a sex control freak - perfect practice for the role of Anastasia.

However, Pare's age may be a problem. Jessica is currently 32 years old, but Anastasia is supposed to be 21.

So who will play Anastasia's love interest, Christian Grey? Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries," "Man of Steel" Henry Cavill, and "White Collar" Matt Bomer are all possible contenders and favorites by fans, The International Business Times reports.

These names must be taken with a grain of salt. Before "Twilight" and "Hunger Games" were released, neither Kristen Stewart nor Jennifer Lawrence were considered top picks for the lead female roles. It's possible that Anastasia Steele will be played by an actress we haven't even considered yet. But that doesn't mean it isn't fun to speculate.
