Samsung Galaxy S3 Update: New Android 4.2 Update Coming Next Month, Confirmed To Have Galaxy S4 Features

The much-awaited update for Samsung Galaxy S3, the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, can be available to the smartphone’s owners as soon as next month, according to Gotta Be Mobile.

The news on the pending Android update, which has been leaked several days ago, will enable Samsung Galaxy S3 to have Samsung Galaxy S4 features once it’s installed according to numerous reports.

One of the world’s most prominent online community on Samsung gadgets, SamMobile leaked several days ago the Galaxy S3 Android 4.2.2 update. It noted that there has been pre-release version of the software available.

The expected version that will be released to the public may not be similar to the updates currently available.

Earlier in the month, Gotta Be Mobile reports that there has been news that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2 update would be rolling out third quarter of 2013, together with the update for Samsung’s popular phablet – the Galaxy Note 2 Android 3.2 update.

Both updates were originally expected to be rolled out by the South Korean tech giant in May or June, but the timing now appears to have been pushed back, according to Gotta Be Mobile.

The update would have Galaxy S4 features on the board. Applying the pre-release version on a Samsung Galaxy S3 will show that there’s a new lockscreen, new camera features, new S-Voice, and new Voice controls.

Gotta Be Mobile notes that the update will be a huge one, both the pre-release and the official update, and will make many Galaxy S3 owners excited as it will likely enhanced the features of the phone that was released last year.

Carriers in the United States will more likely be one of the last to provide the updates, once the official release date is announced. Sprint, however, has proven to be the fastest to push out Android updates to its plethora of devices.
