Chick-Fil-A President Insults Gay Marriage Supreme Court Ruling On Twitter: 'Founding Fathers Would Be Ashamed' Of DOMA Reversal

Fast food chain Chick-fil-A has barely taken a break from their gay discrimination controversy last year before its president Dan Cathy reignited Twitter with a recent tweet showing his disapproval of the Supreme Court ruling to strike down DOMA.

"Sad day for our nation; founding fathers would be ashamed of our [generation] to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies," Cathy alleged wrote, although the tweet was later deleted.

This was not the first time Chick-fil-A and Cathy had been embroiled in controversy regarding gay marriage.

Last year, Cathy admitted to the Baptist Press that the company was "guilty as charged" for backing "the biblical definition of a family."

"We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that."

His anti-gay support came in the form of nearly $7 million donated to anti-gay groups between 2003 to 2010, reported US News.

"Dan recognizes his views do not necessarily represent the views of all Chick-fil-A customers, restaurant owners and employees, so he removed the tweet to eliminate any confusion," said an official statement from Chick-fil-A.

Cathy's latest diatribe against gay marriage comes after the Supreme Court decided that married same-sex couples were entitled to the same federal benefits as straight couples, and effectively lifted the Prop 8 bill in California as well.
