James Cartwright target of criminal leak investigation by allegedly revealing the Stuxnet virus that was part of a highly classified covert program known as "Olympic Games" that used computer code to successfully target Iranian nuclear enrichment facilities to delay that country's efforts to potentially develop a nuclear weapon.

Who is behind the leak of this is what has prompt the Justice Department to investigate the situation.

The source could not confirm the NBC report that Cartwright is specifically being targeted for a leak of information about the Stuxnet computer virus that was first revealed in Sanger's book, according to ABC News.

The 63-year-old was a four-star general who last served as the eighth Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from August 31, 2007 to August 3, 2011. He previously served as the Commander, U.S. Strategic Command, from September 1, 2004 to August 10, 2007, and as Acting Commander, U.S. Strategic Command from July 9, 2004 to September 1, 2004 

Cartwright is currently the Harold Brown Chair in Defense Policy Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think-tank ever since his retirement in 2011.

Greg Craig is representing Cartwright in regard to a Justice Department matter, but he declined to comment on the report or whether or not Cartwright is the subject of the investigation.
