'Super Smash Bros.' For The iPhone? 'Fright Fight' For iOS To Feature Classic Horror Characters, Will It Compete With 3DS 'Smash' Release?

"Super Smash Bros." for the Wii U and 3DS may have the Wii Fit Trainer and Mega Man, but "Fright Fight" has Bigfoot!

As Nintendo gets ready to launch it multi-platform hit series "Super Smash Bros." for the first time on the 3DS handheld device, indie game developer APPsolute Games is developing their very own "3D online multiplayer brawler" for the iOS.

As of now, "Fright Fight" has enlisted the Werewolf, Vampire, Grim Reaper and a Bigfoot  as playable characters, reports Touch Arcade.

What sets the title apart from Nintendo's massive franchise is that it is being made for iOS and Android smart phones and tablets, OUYA game console and NVIDIA Shield .

According to "Super Smash Bros." creator Masahiro Sakurai, the Wii U and 3DS version will have subtle differences in order for the 3DS port to be capable of performing smoothly.

"From an artistic standpoint, when we're looking at these high detail environments that we're creating, we now have to go in and work on all of those little things, because as you can see, if you don't put in the attention to detail they look flat and lifeless."

As such, the levels and graphics for the 3DS will have to be fundamentally different than that of the Wii U big screen version.

So despite, the nostalgic characters of the Nintendo world, will "Fright Fight" prove to be a formidable new entry into the handheld multiplatform brawler world?

As of now, "Fright Fight" is slated for a September release and will be free to play with two characters and one arena to start, but more will be added, including upgrades and power-up items later on.
