Lady Gaga Sings National Anthem At Gay Pride Rally In New York City: Watch As The Rally Gets A Jump Start From The Megastar [VIDEO]

Lady Gaga sings national anthem at gay pride rally in New York City Friday in an attempt to support the lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender (LGBT) community.

Coming off hip surgery that put the singer on the shelf for a few months and forcing her to cancel her world tour, the star comes back as Lady Gaga sings the national anthem at the gay pride rally.

As Lady Gaga sings national anthem, many watch as she set off the festivities with some words for everybody in the LGBT community.

"It's my LGBT friends and fans who always said to me, I knew Lady Gaga when," the singer said. "Well, look who the star is now. Now I get to say that I knew you when. When you suffered, when you felt unequal, when you felt there was nothing to look forward to." Gaga then launched into the National Anthem, clutching a rainbow flag. At the end of her rendition, she changed up the lyrics a bit, replacing "star-spangled banner" with " "star-spangled flag of pride" and "home of the brave" with "home for the gays." Not surprisingly, the crowd went wild.

The Supreme Court of the U.S.'s ruling on Wednesday was that married same-sex couples were entitled to federal benefits and, by declining to decide a case from California, effectively allowed same-sex marriages there. Laws were also placed banning same-sex marriage around the nation.
