Matthew Morrison Dating Renee Puente For Two Years – Now Engaged! ‘Glee’ Star And Model Serenaded By Chris Martin and Elton John

Matthew Morrison had been dating girlfriend Renee Puente for two years before he popped the question on Thursday. They were serenaded by some famous artists to celebrate the news.

The "Glee" star, 34, asked his girlfriend, 26, to marry him last week at the annual White Tie and Tiara Ball to benefit his AIDS Foundation in London.

Elton John and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin broke into song after the announcement, singing a duet of "Your Song," E! Online reports.

Morrison confirmed the news on Twitter, writing: "An incredible night of LOVE @ejaf Ball. I'm going to marry my best friend! Happy day for me and @Renee_Puente."

Renee flaunted her huge sapphire engagement ring - is anyone else thinking of Kate Middleton? - before the pair drove off into the streets of London, Just Jared reports.

Matthew and Renee have been dating since 2011.

Morrison had previously talked about his desire to marry Renee, The Daily Mail reports.

When asked if he wanted to marry the singer/songwriter, he said: "I hope so, then maybe working on kids. Who knows? I've always wanted to have children, but when the holidays are here and I'm around kids more, I'm like, do I really want a kid?"

"It's great to be able to enjoy them and then I'm like, okay, bye! Although when I'm 80 years old, I'm going to want kids and grandkids. That would be awesome," he continued.

Matthew also revealed that he's a romantic at heart. He said he would prefer to stay in with his girl than socialize at fancy parties.

"In a business sense, it's important to be seen at some of [the parties] and speak with people you could work with in the future. But I'd much rather be at home with Renee," he said.
