Charlie Wilson BET Awards 2013: Justin Timberlake Presents Lifetime Achievement Award, Sings Medley With Pharrell Williams, Snoop Lion And ‘You Are’ Soul Singer

Charlie Wilson, at the BET Awards 2013 in Los Angeles, was presented with the lifetime achievement award by Justin Timberlake. Their performance was one of the highlights of the evening.

Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, Pharrell, Snoop Lion, and India.Arie were also part of the tribute to 60-year-old Wilson, and they all sang an energetic medley with Wilson, celebrating Charlie's four decades in the music business. They sang a mixture of his solo and Gap Band hits that wowed the audience, The Washington Post reports.

"Charlie Wilson is soul music. His impact colors the work of many artists, which is basically my nice way of saying I and a lot of other artists have stolen from him," Timberlake said in his speech when he presented Wilson with the award.

The men were all sharply dressed at the awards show that celebrates African-American actors, musicians, and athletes. The 32-year-old Justin wore a black Tom Ford tuxedo with a textured jacket, peak lapel, and Louboutins, as well as slicked-back hair, and 60-year-old Charlie wore a bold orange and black blazer, black bow tie, and white shirt, suspenders and pants.

#CharlieWilson was trending on Twitter on Monday following the performance. Justin Timberlake tweeted: "Charlie Wilson is trending right now. Unbelievable. What an honor that was... Thank you #BETAwards for having me."

At the 13th annual BET awards, Kendrick Lamar was the big winner of the night, with two key category awards: best new artist and male hip-hop artist, according to Billboard. Drake also won two awards: video of the year and the Coca-Cola Viewers' Choice award.

Other key winners included Rihanna (female R&B/pop artist), Nicki Minaj (female hip-hop artist), Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (group), A$AP Rocky (collaboration) and Tamar Braxton (Centric Award), Billboard reports.
