New Season, New Cast: 'The Good Wife' Recruits Melissa George and Juliet Rylance, Will New Love Interest Redeem Kalinda?

"The Good Wife" is starting season five with a bang with two new additions to the cast.

The Huffington Post reports that "Grey's Anatomy," "Alias" alum Melissa George will be  playing Marilyn, Peter Florrick's new in-house ethics counsel who is "smart, sexy, and savvy."

Recently coming off of her starring role in BBC One's "Hunted," George, 36, is one of several cast changes that will be a season that has been described by Julianna Margulies as " more exciting than any of the seasons we've seen."

Joining George is "Frances Ha" actress Juliet Rylance, who will play Holly, a new Assitant State's Attorney who also has a bit of history with Kalinda.

As fans of "The Good Wife" may well remember, Kalinda's storyline with her husband Nick Saverese (Mark Warren), and show runners Michelle and Robert King may see Rylance's character as a way to redeem the character.

"There were tonal issues. It was diving into the operatic headfirst and that may have been a mistake. I think we pursued theme over plot, and that was probably a mistake," admitted Robert during an interview with The Daily Beast.

In addition, former recurring player Zach Grenier, who plays the snarky David Lee at Lockhard & Gardner, has been promoted to series regular.

And with Kalinda and Alicia on opposite ends of the field, will they maintain their relationship, or will it self-destruct as the season progresses?

"What we've been saying to the actors and what we'll happily say to you is this season is really going to start at 90 miles an hour, because next year it is going to be civil war in the firm," continued King.

Be sure to check out the season five premiere of "The Good Wife" on CBS September 29.
