Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie Release Date: Google's 'K Release” May Happen This Fall

Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie release date is probably set this Fall 2013.

Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, or the software that Google dubbed as "K Release" is a major Android update that is soon to arrive. The Wall Street Journal reported about K Release, as cited by Christian Post, but it actually did not particularly claim that the "K Release is the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.

What was indicated from the Wall Street Journal report is that it will be a major software update for Android, and 'K' "hints at the long rumored name for the build." The said "K Release" will happen in fall, because based on Wall Street Journal report, Google is already "wrapping up development on the next version of Android at that time."

Aside from reports about Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie release date in fall, there were also recent news that emerged suggesting that the upcoming software update is being tailored to work with cheaper handset devices, as reported by Geeky Gadgets. If the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie will be me much friendlier to low-cost smart phone and tablet devices, then, this would mean that more Android users can experience the highly anticipated update. Reportedly, mobile devices with 512 Mb of RAM running on Android OS will be able to receive the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie update.

However, there were also reports claiming that Google is not going to introduce a brand new build for firmware such as the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. But instead, will just release an update to its current OS, bringing the update from Android 4.2 to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Despite all these rumors, Google is not making any confirmations or disputes regarding Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie release, or generally about any plans for their OS updates.
