World of Warcraft Movie News: Production For Blizzard Film To Start As Early As 2014 With Possible Release on 2015; WOW Adaptation 'An Excellent Start'

An exciting World of Warcraft movie news has recently emerged claiming that filming for WOW may begin as early as 2014. Charles Rover, World of Warcraft movie producer stated, "First quarter 2014 we're going to shoot that movie. We're moving forward; obviously [studio Legendary Entertainment] is making that film and I'm having a great time with Duncan." Furthermore, there was also World of Warcraft movie news flying around the web that the producers are eyeing for a 2015 theater release.

It was revealed January of this year that Duncan Jones, director of "Moon" and "Source Code", has signed up to helm the World of Warcraft movie. It was an 'excellent start' to have Duncan Jones as the director for the World of Warcraft movie, as reported by IGN, citing a recent io9 interview with Thomas Tull, the chief of Legendary Pictures. "I think we're getting close to a place [where] we're ready to go. When the script is finished, and when we feel like, 'Forget whether or not there's a built-in audience. Does this stand on its own, and is it great?' Then we'll start filming. We're not quite there yet, but we're under suspicion of going there. And Duncan is one of those directors that you just [say], 'This guy gets it," Tull further shared in his statement at the press roundtables for Pacific Rim held in San Francisco.

Moreover, when Tull was asked by io9 about how to make a video game that doesn't suck, he answered, "You start with that exact question." He explained that in the past, production studios were just looking at the number of people playing a specific video game. "'How many people play that game? Okay, then that means they'll probably all go and buy tickets.' That is an incredibly poor way to make a movie."

He further said, "So for us, it's [like], We don't know how to make a movie out of Warcraft, the video game. [Instead], it's the incredible story, and the war, and these races, and everything these guys at Blizzard [Entertainment] have come up with. They have 100 books, and just this incredibly rich world that they've created."

Thomas Tull did not make any confirmations about World of Warcraft movie news claiming that the feature adaptation of MMORPG game from Blizzard would start production early in 2014. But he said, "The next two years are going to be pretty exciting, I think."

If the production will start next year, then it would mean that the World of Warcraft movie release may be set in 2016, contrary to previous news that a 2015 launch window is planned.
