The Walking Dead: 400 Days is the follow-up to the award-winning video game based off of the graphic novel and television series, gamers will see its PlayStation Network release on July 3 for North America and July 10 for Europe.

In the release trailer below, we catch a glimpse of the five simultaneous storylines players will be exploring with new characters. As noted by Mashable, the episode takes place in the same time period and geographical area as the first season of the game.

Being that it is technically downloadable content for The Walking Dead season one, players need to at least own the first episode in order to play "400 Days."

Given that The Walking Dead: 400 Days is supposed to bridge the gap between season 1 and 2, gamers are expecting the second season later this year.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days will be on sale for $4.99.

This is just in time for the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, where the 10th anniversary celebration for the groundbreaking zombie franchise will take place.

"It's hard to believe the growth and expansion 'The Walking Dead' has undergone since I began writing the comic 10 years ago," says creator Robert Kirkman according to the LA Times.

"This entire event is a thank-you to fans of 'The Walking Dead' universe."

Comic-con is scheduled to run from July 18 to July 21 at the San Diego Convention, and at the heart of it will be the hit franchise, with events like zombie costume contests, makeup stations, celebrity appearances, as well as a booth to play "The Walking Dead" video game.

A particularly popular event is called "The Walking Dead Escape," where participants ("survivors") are pitted against employees dressed up as walkers in an obstacle course.
