Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini: Now Available In The UK, Priced At Approx. $534, ‘Offers Many Features Of The S4’

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is now available in the UK, reported Trusted Reviews. The 4.3-inch spinoff of the flagship S4 is a scaled down take on the market leading handset.

The S4 Mini has a similar design but reduced specs. UK mobile provider, Three, confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini was made available Tuesday for £350 or approximately $534.

“The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini offers many of the popular features that the original S4 does, just in a smaller shell, making it even easier to fit it into your life, and your hand,” according to Sylvia Child, head of devices at Three.

“With features such as social tag, people can update friends on fun and silly experiences, uploading pictures onto their favourite social networks quickly, using Three’s Ultrafast network.”

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini price is set at a $534 when purchased on a PAYG basis, but the UK mobile network said that it will offer the dual-core Android handset for free when taken out on a two year, £26 or $39.71 per month contract.

The 4G capable handset will be compatible with Three’s 4G network when it launches in the future. At present only EE is offering the S4 Mini on a 4G platform from launch.

Giving aspiring owners a variety of options when picking up the first of a trio of S4 spinoffs, which also includes the waterproof Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and the camera heavy Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, the S4 mini will come with Three’s Ultimate Internet 100 plan.

If users opt for the Ultimate Internet 100 plan, they need only pay £26. If subscribers choose the One Plan for the S4 mini, they need to shell out £32 per month or $48.87.

Despite the South Korean tech giant touting the similarities of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S4 mini, Trusted Reviews said that apart from the design it has very little in common with its big brother.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini serves as a replacement to the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini and boasts a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display with a 960 x 540p resolution.

The S4 mini specs are further enhanced with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD. It also has an 8-megapixel camera feature on the handset’s rear and a second, 1.9-megapixel snapper up front.

The S4 mini measures 8.9 mm thick and 107g in weight, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and a 1900mAh Lithium-Ion battery.
