Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth Break Up: Could ‘Hunger Games’ Star’s Edward Snowden Role Kill Relationship? Director Eyes Actor For Role Of American Fugitive

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have made headlines for rumors surrounding their possible break-up, but the possibility of the "Hunger Games" star taking on the role of Edward Snowden in a new film could affect their relationship.

Acclaimed film director Phillip Noyce wants to make a film about the American fugitive and has his eyes set on Liam Hemsworth for the role, a move that could affect the actor's relationship with his fiancé.

"This is a movie that's playing out before our eyes, even though we can't see anything. We can't see the hero or the villain - the central character. Like my last big movie, 'Salt,' it's a story where you're not quite certain if you're dealing with a heroine or a villain. And we may not be certain until the end of the movie or even beyond that," Noyce said in an interview, according to Perez Hilton.

"That's a beautiful duality to deal with when you're making a story or watching a movie. You can speculate he's motivated by complete unselfish motives through belief in protecting worldwide public interests. Or you can speculate he was himself a victim of knowing that notoriety might bring him immortality."

Liam Hemsworth has been busy filming new movies and has spent some time away from Miley Cyrus as he embraces his acting career.

Earlier this week, several reports revealed that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are arguing over her recent behavior and the "Hunger Games" star reportedly shuts off his cell phone after the couple fights.

"That's so hard on her," a source tells Hollywood Life.

"It really, really upsets her when she can't reach Liam. She wonders where he's at and who he's with. It's torture for her, and it's her mom and dad that are left dealing with it."
