So You Think You Can Dance Format Change To 'Inspire The Bottom 4': No Results Show Tortures Dancers To Perform Without Knowing Elimination

Season 10 of "So You Think You Can Dance" began with a few bumps, the latest being the controversial results format where dancers who were eliminated were forced to perform afterwards with their partners.

The first pair of eliminated dancers, Carlos Garland and Brittany Cherry, not only received the "cruelest cut of all" by being eliminated at the top of the show, but proceeded to perform with their respective partners the routines they worked this week.

Routines they worked on to compete in the show.

"So You Think You Can Dance" fans immediately took to Twitter, particularly executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, to complain about the torturous format.

Ultimately though, the former "American Idol" producer listened and agreed to change the format so the bottom 4 will be announced at the top of the episode, but the elimination will not be announced by the judges until the end.

What this means for the dancers is that the bottom three couples will be announced, and the judges will put two to safety, and the bottom 4 will perform their "Dance for your Life" solos before performing their routines.

It's unclear why this wasn't done in the first place, as "So You Think You Can Dance" season 9 aired with the exact same format.

Either way, are you happy with the format change, or is the lack of a results show slowly killing "So You Think You Can Dance?"
