Legend Of Korra Blu-ray, DVD Release Excites Fans For Season 2: Bryan Konietzko Talks Avatar Inspiration Before 'Book 2: Spirits' Comic-Con Panel

With the buzz surrounding "The Legend of Korra" season two, the Blu-ray and DVD release of Book One: Air is only amping up the excitement as the San Diego Comic-Con panel gets ever closer.

Reviews and reactions of the release have been stellar, particularly the blu-ray.

"The Legend of Korra has received a stellar 1080p High Definition presentation that preserves the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.78:1 widescreen," writes DVD Talk contributor Neil Lumbard. "The colors and depth of the image impresses constantly, and the animation crispness and detail is strong."

"The series has been released with a fantastic 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio lossless audio track that impresses at every turn."

What makes "The Legend of Korra" release more exciting is the extra features, which include the featurette "The Making of a Legend: The Untold Story: Part 1," as well as audio commentaries from creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino.

As Konietzko gears up for the Comic-Con panel regarding season two, the co-creator takes to Tumblr to talk about his relationship with yoga and its vehicle as inspiration for "Avatar."

"The initial lightning bolt of inspiration that sprouted the whole 'Avatar' universe came during a yoga meditation in 2002, fusing disparate ideas and sketches that Mike and I were kicking around and forging them into the seed of the creation you know today."

Season two, titled Book 2: Spirits, will be the subject of the Comic-Con panel on July 19 in Ballroom 20, and as previously reported, both Konietzko and DiMartino will be present along with voice actors Janet Varney (Korra), David Faustino (Mako), and P.J. Byrne (Bolin).

Here's to hoping a release date will be unveiled then!
