Minecraft Xbox 360 Update: Release Date For TU12 Delayed By Game Coding? Developer Says There Will Be ‘Lots Of Software Architecture Changes’

Minecraft Title Update 12 for the Xbox 360 might have a delayed release date because of game coding changes being made to address software architectural differences between Microsoft and PC.

"We're still working on TU12- there are lots of software architecture changes needed for this update. Thanks for your continued patience," 4J Studios, the game's developer, posted on Twitter on Friday.

4J Studios also added that TU12 features "lots of changes in the way the code works underneath the game."

The game coding move has left many gamers wondering if it will delay the release of Minecraft TU12.

But Xbox 360 editions of Minecraft have sold over 7 million copies around the world, according to a tweet posted by 4J Studios, bringing hope to Xbox One enthusiasts looking for a copy on the next-generation console.

Microsoft has been criticized by many for its Xbox One specs, price and policies but the news that Minecraft surpassed the 7-million mark is great news for those hoping that particular games will attract more people to the Xbox One.

"There's little doubt how popular Minecraft has been on the Xbox 360 since it launched last year, as its continually defied expectations month after month. It shouldn't come as a surprise then to learn another sales milestone was passed this June," writes Screen Crush.

"Most retail games would kill for those kinds of sales figures, but Mojang and 4J Studios have made one of the biggest commercial successes as a digital download. With the game already set for an Xbox One release, it's unlikely the sales are going to stop, especially if saves can transfer over."
