Ice Coke Bottle Cools Colombia: Eco-Friendly Coca-Cola Bottle Made Entirely Of Ice Helping Beat The Heat

A new Coke bottle made of ice is helping people in Colombia beat the heat.

The Coca-Cola bottle is made entirely of ice, and it's making a splash among beachgoers in Colombia.

Drink servers have sold 265 frozen Coke bottles per hour on average at beaches in Colombia, South America.

The icy container is shaped like the iconic glass Coke bottle, but it's carved from ice and filled with soda beachside. The ice Coca-Cola bottle is wrapped with a red rubber band to protect from cold fingers with the Coke  logo on it. Afterwards, it can be used as a bracelet.

The soda container is making waves-but it's not getting thrown into them. It's touted as being it's eco-friendly because it melts after use rather than being thrown away.

However, the refrigeration used to keep the container from melting may cancel out some of the benefits from the frozen Coke bottle not being thrown away.

The classic American soft drink ditched the cubes on the inside for Colombia in favor of being, well, a literal cube on the outside.

The bottle is produced from water being poured into a silicon mold at 13 degrees Fahrenheit, or well below freezing. The Coke itself is poured into the icy bottle later.

Coca-Cola's website touts the new bottle as "Fria hasta la ultima gota," or "Cold to the last drop."

The Coke bottle made of ice is only available in Colombia right now.

The South American country has a heat wave, like everyone else--- and the Coke bottle is proving just the ticket to beat the heat.
