Stacy Keibler, George Clooney Split: 2013 Break Up Caused By Age Difference, Time Spent Apart, Busy Schedules?

Stacy Keibler and George Clooney have split after dating for two years. What was the reason for Stacey and George's break up? Was it age difference, too much time spent apart from each other, or their busy schedules that led to the Keibler and Clooney split?

Looks like it was all three.

Stacy is 33 years old, and George is 52. "They have little in common," one source told Us Weekly in March. "She likes to go out and have fun. She's been feeling the age difference." 

The couple also has been apart for long periods of time this year, which is not healthy for their relationship.

"They haven't been in the same country for a long time. They are both working and haven't seen each other. You can't have a relationship with someone that you don't see," an insider said to Us Weekly.  

Rumors of a split sparked when it looked like George and Stacy spent the Fourth of July weekend apart. Clooney was photographed boarding a boat near his villa in Italy, and Keibler partied with friends in Los Angeles, People magazine reports.

"She isn't in Italy because she is working and shooting in New York and then doing a ton of press for her new show which launches on July 22," a source told RadarOnline.

Another factor that led to their break up was that Clooney was never keen on settling down and starting a family, whereas Stacy wanted to be a mother someday.

"Stacy called it quits. She wants to have children and a family someday. She knows where George stands on that," a source close to the couple told People magazine. "They talked and they quietly stopped being a couple several weeks ago."

Fortunately, the split was amicable and Clooney and Keibler will remain on good terms: "They talk every day. They were friends before they started dating and they'll be friends after. It was a friendly [breakup]." 

Keibler and Clooney first started dating around July 2011, and made their red carpet debut at the Toronto Film Festival. They also attended the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards together, Us Weekly reports.
