Tom Hanks Greatest Grandfather Ever: Son Colin Has Second Daughter; Tom Will ‘Dote On This Kid’ Just Like First Granddaughter

Tom Hanks is a grandfather again, and if he treats his new granddaughter like he does his other, she's a very lucky little girl. Tom Hanks' son Colin welcomed his second daughter, Charlotte.

Colin, 35, son of Tom, 56, welcomed a baby girl on the week of the Fourth of July with his wife Samantha Bryant. The couple announced the news on Tuesday, The Daily Mail reports.

"Ms. Charlotte Bryant Hanks has decided to join us. She's as happy and healthy as we are overjoyed and tired," Colin told People magazine.

The couple has another daughter, Olivia Jane, who is two years old and was born in 2011.

Grandpa Tom may just be the greatest grandfather ever, based on his treatment of his first granddaughter Olivia. If he treats Charlotte the same way, she's a lucky girl.

When Olivia was first born, Colin said his father and mother, Rita, were completely in love with her.

"They cannot wait to just dote on this kid with every single fiber of their being," Colin said. "My wife and I are more than happy to give them our baby and say, 'Here, watch her while we take a nap!'"

Tom Hanks also posted a picture to his WhoSay account of Olivia's little newborn feet, wrapped in a pink onesie, when she was born, with the caption: "My grand daughter's feet. She looks like ME! Hanx"

According to The Christian Post, Tom and Rita were already spotted walking the town together in Malibu with Hanks holding Olivia in his arms, probably to give Colin and Samantha some time alone with the new baby.

Many fans took to the Internet to acknowledge Tom Hanks' grandfathering skills.

"Love to see the little one with her arm over her grandpa's shoulder, completely comfortable and trusting, as she should be. Very sweet," one user wrote on the Daily Mail blog.

Other users loved that Hanks was being so "down to earth."
