iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S4, Specs, Features: Flagship Mobile Device Of Apple and Samsung Pitted On Design And Display, Guess Which Phone Wins?

The iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4 rivalry is heating up and could lead to an all-out war by fall of this year when the fifth-iteration of the Apple mobile device comes out.

We compare the two mobile phones in two important categories: Design and Display. Can you guess the overall winner?

Laptopmag.com calls the iPhone 5, a device that’s so Zen-like in its simplicity. The device is very swift and light on its feet noted the blog.

The Samsung Galaxy S4, on the other hand, targeted to overwhelm the Apple device with a bigger screen and a jam-packed of features.

Samsung Galaxy S4 vs. iPhone 5 Design Comparison

It’s a glass-and-aluminum beauty that’s very light yet very solid. The iPhone remains a status symbol with its polished chamfered edges, precision-cut speakers and even the button feel are all pretty much perfect. Apple’s device is so easy to use with one hand, described Laptopmag.com

The Samsung Galaxy S4, on the other hand, is significantly taller and wider than the iPhone 5. Although it’s lighter than the 5-inch phone, weighing only 4.6 ounces, it would require both of your hands to effectively control the gadget and maximize its features. It does, however, have a sturdier and denser feel than its predecessor the S3.

Our choice: The iPhone 5 design comes off as more elegant, striking and user-friendly. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is just too big and bulky.

Samsung Galaxy S4 vs. iPhone 5 Display Comparison

The 5-inch Super AMOLED display of the Samsung Galaxy S4 makes it an easy winner, as it makes the iPhone’s 4-inch LCD look relatively cramped, according to Laptopmag.com. Texts are easier to read on the Galaxy S4 from websites and would not require you to zoom in.

Watching movies and clips on the S4 gives a better experience, since the Samsung device not only edges iPhone in display size but also in resolution. The S4 offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels or 441 pixels per inch. The iPhone 5, on the other hand, offers a fairly sharp picture at 1136 x 640 pixels, but is behind the S4 with only 326 pixels per inch.

Brightness is the display spec where the S4 loses out on the iPhone. When viewed outdoors, the S4’s display was harder to read, especially when it’s right below sunlight. Apple’s iPhone 5, on the other hand, was an easier read.

Based on a Laptopmag.com test, Apple’s iPhone 5 registered 535 lux on the light meter compared to 446 lux for the Samsung S4.

The obvious winner for display here is obviously the Samsung Galaxy S4, beating out the iPhone 5 because of its bigger size and higher quality resolution.

It’s a draw for the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4 for this two-feature comparison. If you’re up for comfort and elegance, pick the iPhone5, while if its better resolution and display that makes you happy, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the perfect choice.
