'Iron Man 4' Rumors: Will Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow Shake off the Rust?

“Iron Man 4” rumors are gathering momentum. Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow may be in the "Iron Man 4" cast, but nothing’s been signed yet. Downey played Marvel comic's genius-billionaire-playboy-philanthropist Tony Stark in the first three Iron Man movies, and Gwyneth Paltrow played Pepper Potts, but there are conflicting rumors about “Iron Man 4.”

“Iron Man 4” rumors point out that Robert Downey Jr. signed a contract with Marvel Studios to play Ironman in “The Avengers 2” and “The Avengers 3,”: but he hasn’t inked a contract for a new stand-alone Iron Man film.

Gwyneth Paltrow said she’d like to do a spinoff that would feature her character Pepper Pots' alias Rescue, but she said she doubts that, if there is an “Iron Man 4,” it won’t star Paltrow and Downey. She told GeekNation, "I don't think there's going to be [an Iron Man 4. I think we're done with Iron Man." She told omg! "Anything that's really good that speaks to me I'll do. It could be Iron Man 4."

If Marvel Studios could recasts the role of Iron Man, a new entry in the franchise can be made without Paltrow and Downey. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel studio, told Entertainment Weekly, "I believe there will be a fourth Iron Man film and a fifth and a sixth and a 10th and a 20th. I see no reason why Tony Stark can't be as evergreen as James Bond. Or Batman for that matter. Or Spider-Man. I think Iron Man is a character just like that."
