Playstation 4 Release Date Around November, Wal-mart Confirms; GameStop Closes PS4 Pre-Orders As Launch Units “Sold Out”

Wal-mart has recently shared their thoughts about Sony's next generation gaming console by saying that the PlayStation 4 release date will be in November. More news regarding the PlayStation 4 release, GameStop has already ended its US pre-order for the PS4 after its allocation of launch units had 'sold out'.

Although the top of the PS4 product page of the famous retailer says, "Preorder this item today and it should ship on 12/31/2013," Wal-mart's item description for Sony's upcoming game console directly said that the PlayStation 4 release date will be this November. The description reads, "The PS4 console will ship free on release date this November."

Although Sony is still keeping their mum about PlayStation 4 release date (the company sure wants to keep it a top secret!), a lot of retailer leaks have already came out. For instance, one of the very first PlayStation 4 release date rumors came from the German retailer, Media Markt. The company posted an advertising banner unleashing that the PlayStation 4 release date is November 13, at least for Europe.

On other news, Gamestop has recently ended its pre-order sales for the Sony PlayStation after the number of units it allocated for the launch date has run dry. PlayStation Lifestyle reported citing Game Informer, that 'due to high demand', GameStop is not anymore taking additional reservation orders for the PS4 and it applies to both its online shop and retail store. For updates, gamers interested to know when more units for the PS4 will become available can simply submit their email address to Gamestop's official site.

However, for fans who could not wait to get updates about PlayStation 4 release date, the VP and Managing Director for SCE UK and Ireland, Fergal Gara, promised that official news about the Sony PS4 will be revealed at GamesCom Conference, happening in Germany in August.
