Playstation 4 release date rumors are flaring after Sony released an advertisement on Twitter on Tuesday, displaying a photo of a solar eclipse that could point to a November 3 sale date.

Sony shared the image showing a solar eclipse with the text "When Worlds Collide" - November 3 is the date of a total solar eclipse which will be visible in North America, Asia, Europe and other locations, according to Gotta Be Mobile.

Given the imagery in the PS4 teaser image, it's possible that Sunday November 3rd is the PS4 release date or the kickoff of a major campaign that leads up to the PS4 release, Gotta Be Mobile also reports.

But Wal-Mart also intensified Playstation 4 release date rumors after announcing the next-generation console will be available for sale in November, according to an item description listed on its website.

"The PS4 console will ship free on release date this November," Wal-Mart writes on its item description of the PS4.

"Playstation 4 is the best place to play with dynamic, connected gaming, powerful graphics and speed, intelligent personalization, deeply integrated social capabilities and innovative second-screen features."

Although the Playstation 4 release date is expected to be announced at the Gamescom conference in Germany this August, Wal-Mart might have given away Sony's long-awaited secret.

It is speculated that Sony will release its Playstation 4 console before Microsoft releases its Xbox One to gain an advantage during the upcoming holiday shopping season.
