Girls’ Generation Performance of ‘The Boys’ on David Letterman Show

CBS invited a Korean pop sensation last night to perform on the late-night program, 'The Late Show with David Letterman.'

The South Korean popular girl group, Girls’ Generation who is expected to pave the way for Korean pop movement in the States performed their title track of the U.S. single "The Boys." This marks the first Korean artist to make an appearance on American mainstream media.

Girls' Generation has performed in the U.S. before in Madison Square Garden last October.The single "The Boys," is written by Teddy Riley who has worked with artists such as Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown and Usher.

We expect the appearance on the show will boost their recognition in the States. The group has a strong fan base all around the world their music video of "The Boys" has surpassed 30 million views on YouTube.

Billboard's East Asia correspondent Rob Schwartz commented, "These girls are sexy enough to open the floodgates for the Korean wave with this performance."

The group will also make an appearance on Wednesday "Live with Kelly" alongside Jennifer Lopez and guest co-host Howie Mandel.
