‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Photo Shoot: Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev Post Behind-The-Scenes Pictures On Instagram And Twitter; Break Up Didn't Affect Friendship?

"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 doesn't premiere until October 10 but that won't stop Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev from posting behind-the-scenes pictures of a recent photo shoot to promote season 5.

Ian posted a picture on his Instagram account of a behind-the-scenes selfie of himself, Nina, and Paul Wesley, to share his excitement about the photo shoot.

"The trio-Stefan, Elena, Damon..." Ian captioned the shot, referring to the characters that the actors play in "Vampire Diaries."

Nina retweeted Ian's photo on her Twitter account, suggesting that she harbors no hard feelings towards her ex-boyfriend. HollywoodLife.com reports that Ian and Nina broke up May 9 after dating for several years.

A source assured Us Weekly that the split between Ian, 34, and Nina, 24, would not affect the relationship between Nina and Damon on "Vampire Diaries."

The source said: Ian and Nina are "consummate professionals" and "will continue to work together and remain best friends."

Earlier this month, the "Vampire Diaries" stars took to Twitter to inform fans of the first day of filming for season 5.

On July 10, Ian tweeted: "1st day of shooting season 5 of The Vampire Diaries- break a leg today everyone!"

"It's HOT, no doubt welcome home to Mystic Falls people!" the Louisiana-native added.
