‘Game Of Thrones’ Stars Emilia Clarke And Nathalie Emmanuel Defend Sex Scenes And Nudity In HBO Series: 'Very Raw And Real'

"Game of Thrones" stars Emilia Clarke and Nathalie Emmanuel defend the hit HBO show's numerous graphic sex and nudity scenes.

Emilia Clarke told fans how to make a costume of Daenerys Targaryen -- the character she plays on "Game of Thrones" - look even more convincing at conventions like Comic-Con and for Halloween.

The trick? "Take it off," she said.

The actress thus admits that in order to make her costume more authentic, the trick is more nudity, The Los Angeles Times reports. Clarke taps into a contentious issue that divides fans of "Game of Thrones." According to The Inquisitr, fans are often critical of the steamy and graphic sex scenes that permeate the violence and drama of the HBO series.

However, for Nathalie Emmanuel, who plays Missandei on the show, these scenes really aren't a big deal.

"Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and if it's too much for you then that's fine. But in the books it's very raw and real and that's why a lot of people love the show. It's not afraid to push the boundaries and make you feel shocked or angry," the actress explained to the Daily Star.

She continued, "Sex is what we do as humans. It's not anything alien, it's just real. Especially at the time when the show is set - you would have had whores, it was kind of the done thing. The sex scenes make it realistic and authentic, it's something the show does really well."

Nathalie Emmanuel also admitted that stripping down for scenes isn't an issue for her.

"It's very normal, I'm playing a character. Sometimes you're naked in your everyday life. For me it's not a big deal," she said.

Fans can probably expect plenty of nudity in season four of "Game of Thrones," which will premiere spring 2014.
