Half-Life 3 Release Date Article Posted Online A Fake: Alleged Statement From Game Developer A Fabrication

An online article regarding Half-Life 3 release date is a bogus, according to Valve.

A blog site for games, NSS, posted an article about Half-Life 3 release date which quoted an alleged statement from the game developer.

On the post, John Guthrie, a developer from Valve since 1997 was talking about Half-Life 3 release date and his exact statements were:

"I can't confirm all too much since the development is still in early stages, but for now I can confirm that we are going to release on both current and next generation consoles and we will also release the game on our own platform exclusively for PC and Mac. We hope to have the first trailer ready for E3 2014".

However, the Washington Studio stated that these quoted statement confirming Half-Life 3 release date was actually a fabrication. According to Computer and Video Games, a spokesperson for Valve has told them that the article is a 'bogus' after they have reviewed the publication.

The report was already disregarded by many online news outlet. However, the rumor about Half-Life 3 release date originating from the NSS blog site had already spread across social networking sites and forums.

Meanwhile, the CVG post also stated that Valve has not been issuing any details about the upcoming Half-Life project. The report reads, "In the five and a half years since the release of Half-Life 2 Episode 2, the company has only indirectly commented on the project."

In December of 2011, a stream of speculations claiming that the game studio had already commenced the production of Half-Life 3 ARG created online buzz. But these false rumors were refuted by Valve's Chet Faliszek as he said, "There is no ARG. There has been no directive from Gabe to leak anything. That is all false,"

Faliszek's statements simply indicated that Valve studio has no intentions of teasing the fans about Half-Life 3 release date in the months or years ahead. He revealed, "I just want to say this so there is no confusion - This is the community trolling the community, nothing more. While it is nice to see people excited about anything HL, I hate seeing people be trolled like this."
