Katy Perry Robert Pattinson Dating Rumors [VIDEO]; Katy Perry “Madly in Love” with John Mayer; Texting Kristen Stewart over Scandal

Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson are no stranger to dating rumor.  Both have been spuriously romantically linked with a number of people.  Since the breakup of Twilight actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, some have tried to link Katy and Rob, even though Katy is a friend of Kristen Stewart and currently dating John Mayer.

Katy Perry, the Firework singer who recently starred in Smurfs 2, told Elle about how she responded to the Robert Pattinson dating rumor.  "I sent her [Kristen Stewart] a text message saying: 'I know you've seen all this stuff but you know I would never disrespect you. I'm not that person. I'm just trying to be a friend to him but it is unfortunate that I do have a set of tits."

Katy Perry says she is now "Madly in Love" with Paper Doll singer John Mayer.  Although they had broken up after dating previously, they were seen on a date together last week and celebrated the fourth of July together.  John Mayer has been linked another musical young lady, Taylor Swift, 22 singer, who purportedly inspired the song Paper Doll due to her own missive song Dear John. 

Katy Perry has dealt with her own breakup sagas, including the breakup of her marriage to comedian Russell Brand.  Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson's breakup was particularly painful due to the cheating scandal they had dealt with and the work they had done together for the Twilight series of films.

The Katy Perry John Mayer break up make-up saga continues!  The musical couple dated last year but reportedly split up in March.  John Mayer Album Release Date is July 20, so perhaps he will be making more public appearances with Firework songstress Katy Perry.

There is some evidence that Katy Perry and John Mayer are back together once again.  The pair were seen holding hands in New York and were at a barbeque together on the Fourth of July.

Katy Perry says she is still "madly in love" with John Mayer in the July 2013 issue of Vogue, on which she is the cover girl.

"I still am madly in love with him. All I can say about that relationship is that he's got a beautiful mind .... Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds."

"I'm not in a relationship, I'm just on my own - I am myself in my own bed," she said. "I have to be happy being alone, and I am happy ... I believe that I will be loved again, in the right way ... I know I'm worth it."

Katy Perry was married to comedian Russell Brand.  She is best known for her songs Firework, California Gurls and I Kissed a Girl.  Her song I Kissed a Girl courted controversy.  Katy Perry is well known for her stage costumes which are candy colored and elaborate.

John Mayer is known for his singing and guitar playing.  He is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music.  His best known song is Wonderland.  He recently released a song, Paper Doll, that is reported to be about ex Taylor Swift.  The lyrics referenced Taylor's single "22": "You're like 22 girls in one/ And none of them know what they're running from/ Was it just too far to fall for a little paper doll?"  Mayer was upset by reports that Taylor Swift had written the song "Dear John" about him.
