Nexus 5 Release Date Delayed: Google Looking For New Manufacturer; LG Electronics Will Not Create The Successor of Nexus 4

Nexus 5 release date may be delayed.

International Business Times reported that Nexus 5 release date may come later than expected because Google is still currently looking for a company that will build the upcoming Nexus smartphone.

According to recent posts, Google will no longer tie up with the manufacturer of Nexus 4, which is LG Electronics, to make the Nexus 5.

An executive from LG provided a statement verifying the news. Won Kim, the Vice President of LG Mobile in Europe, said, "The Nexus 4 was a great success despite the production problems for us and Google. However we do not need such a marketing success again.

With this, many are interested to know as to which manufacturing company Google will team up with for the Nexus 5. Citing Stabley Times, it is reported that Google has its eye on one of its key partners such as Asus, which created the Nexus 7. The Nexus 5 project may also be given to Google's new acquisition and subsidiary, the Motorola Mobility.

Earlier speculations pointed out to a Nexus 5 release date this fall of 2013, especially now that Nexus 7 is already released in the market. Android fans are starting to become more curious about what Google is planning for the Nexus 5. After the release of Google's next gen tablet, many were considering that Nexus 5 release date will already be announced soon.

Furthermore, looking into Google's prior schedule for its product release, it is most likely that a Nexus 5 release date could soon be arriving following the release of Nexus 7. Google introduced the first-gen of Nexus 7 in July of last year. A year later, the new generation of Nexus tablet was released. Meanwhile, the current Nexus 4 came to the market in November 2012 together with the wide-screen Nexus 10. With this, previous rumors have indicated that Google may release Nexus 10 more likely in the daily, and if this is true, fans might also see a possible Nexus 5 release date in fall.
