Wonder Girls Leader Sunye to Become Haitian Missionary After Giving Birth. What About ‘Wonder Girls?’

We won't be seeing Wonder Girls member Sunye in mainstream media any time soon.

On June 20, broadcaster Lee Mina tweeted her meeting with Sunye and the conversation they had.

Lee Mina uploaded onto her Twitter, 'The person I've been longing to meet: Sunye of Wonder Girls. Although it was our first time meeting, as soon as we sat down we shared our fellowship in faith and didn't even realize how quickly time was passing. We discussed God's grace, and we had a very wonderful time together.'

She went on to reveal Sunye's future plans, saying Sunye 'will go to Haiti as a missionary six months after giving birth. It's lovely to see that she is doing everything very cautiously so as to not bring attention to herself instead of God. How lovely that although she is going to Haiti out of her own volition, she is grateful even for the opportunity to be a missionary. Sunye is overflowing with humility and gentleness in her character.'

Following the news of Sunye's marriage and pregnancy, the return of Wonder Girls was unclear. Even the agency seems to be focusing on the individual activities of each member of the girl group. With the news of Sunye's planned Haiti mission trip, it is unlikely that Wonder Girls will be appearing any time soon as a group.

Sunye was wedded to her missionary husband James Park last January, and is currently pregnant with her first child.
