Free Games For Xbox Live Gold Members: ‘Crackdown’, ‘Dead Rising 2’ And ‘Dead Rising 2: Case Zero’ Available This August For 0 Microsoft Points

Free games for Xbox Live Gold members for the month of August have already been revealed.

Major Nelson, as reported by Co-Optimus, unleashed that there will be not one, not two but actually three free games to be featured on Microsoft's Games with Gold promotion. According to Nelson, Crackdown, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Case Zero are going to be the free games for Xbox Live Gold members this month.

For the schedule of the free games for Xbox Live Gold members, the first free game to be released is Crackdown. Xbox Live Gold members can get Crackdown for free from August 1 -15. The game which is usually worth $14.99 will be free to download for the first half of the month.

On August 16, Crackdown will be replaced by two titles, Dead Rising 2 (normal value is $29.99) and Dead Rising 2: Case Zero (with original price tag of $34.99 or 400 MS Points). These games will be free until August 31.

Crackdown and Dead Rising 2 are both cooperative titles, meaning they can be played online by up to two players. Even if you already have these free games for Xbox Live Gold members, it would still be best to download them for O Microsoft points since they will be forever yours to keep, even after your membership with Xbox Live lapses.

Free games for Xbox Live Gold members officially started last month with Assassin's Creed 2 and Defense Grid: The Awakening. This promotion from Microsoft was initially revealed during E3 2013 and is somehow similar to Sony PlayStation Plus program.

'Games With Gold' offering promises two free games for Xbox Live Gold members each month. The first game will be released on the first day of the month, while the second free title for Xbox Live Gold members will be made available on the 16th
