Prince George's birth certificate was revealed as Kate Middleton and Prince William officially registered the birth of royal baby George. On the birth certificate, Kate Middleton's new "princess" title was used for the first time.

Kate Middleton officially became a princess on July 22 when she gave birth to Prince George, the third male heir to the British throne, UPI reports. He is behind his grandfather Prince Charles and his father, Prince William.

Kate's new title was officially used for the first time on Friday, when Prince William registered their son by signing his register at Kensington Palace.

A photo of the registry was released, showing William's occupation as "Prince of the United Kingdom" and Middleton as "Princess of the United Kingdom."

In a statement issued on Friday, Kensington Palace said: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have formally registered the birth of Prince George.

"The Duke of Cambridge signed the birth register at Kensington Palace this morning, witnessed by a Registrar from Westminster Register Office," the statement continued.

The couple's "usual address" was listed as Kensington Palace, and the duchess's place of birth was listed as Reading, BBC News reports.

However, UPI notes that by name Kate is still a duchess. Her name was listed as, "Catherine Elizabeth Her Royal Higness The Duchess of Cambridge" while her husband's name included the title "Prince."

BBC News also reports that Kate is a princess by marriage and can be called Princess William of Wales.
