Upcoming Google Nexus 7.2: Google Asus Tablet Designed To Rival iPad Mini 2, Android Puts Its Best Foot Forward To Compete With Apple

The upcoming Google Nexus 7.2 is set to rival Apple’s highly rumored iPad Mini 2, according to the International Business Times. With better hardware and display, the tech giant is more prepared to meet its Silicon Valley neighbor in the tablets market.

The report indicated that the Nexus tablet seems to be the best foot forward of the Android products, but the vice president of product management for Android, Hugo Barra, boasts that the market hasn’t seen anything yet.

The first Google Nexus tablet was a huge hit and gave people an alternative and cheaper tablet. But although the tablet has good specs, it wasn’t impressive, noted the Business Times. Amazon also came up with a competing device, the Kindle Fire, which was more focused on targeting the e-reader market.

Thanks to the positive consumer reception of the first Nexus tablet, the rumored collaboration of Asus and Google, on a tablet called Asus K009, has been on the radar for months. And last week, the second generation of the Google Nexus 7 was revealed.

A major portion of the market has noted that the Google Nexus 7.2 stands to become one of the best tablets of its kind. It runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.3 and not on the 5.0 Key Lime Pie, and the interface assures the user of an excellent experience with the device.

The new operating system enables parents to control their kid’s usage through restricted profiles. The Nexus 7.2 also features OpenGL ES 3.0 for better graphics and Bluetooth Smart for low power consumption and long battery life.

The upgraded display, with a 7-inch screen offers 1200 x 1980 resolution. The tablet also runs on a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor. It has 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB or 32GB choice of internal storage, according to the Business Times. In terms of design, the new Nexus 7.2 is lighter and slimmer than its predecessors.

The iPad sells at a higher price than the Nexus and has an entry-level price that’s a hundred dollars more. The affordability of the Nexus 7 made it the toughest rival for the iPad mini. Previously, Google stood ahead in terms of display and overall interface experience, but Apple has a marketing system and ecosystem that is difficult to compete.
The Business Times described Apple products as “in a completely different league.”

The primary advantage of Google Nexus is that it has addressed customer concerns and feedback from the first one, according to the Business Times. The new version of the tablet improved the interface, display and computing performance. In order to match the new specs of the Nexus tablet, Apple will need to overhaul their line of iPad products to match their standard.
