Dallas Cowboys Preseason Game 24-20 Victory: No Romo No Problem As Defense Steps It Up Big With 75-Yard INT Return For Touchdown [VIDEO]

Dallas Cowboys preseason game ends with a 24-20 victory without Tony Romo under center, which started with a turnover that led to an easy score and a pick-six later on.

The defense for the Dallas Cowboys for the preseason game Sunday night for the hall of fame game was what helped them win and outplay the Miami Dolphins for the majority of the game.

Sixth-round rookie Devonte Holloman for the Dallas Cowboys debuted with a 75-yard interception return with a tipped pass keyed the Dallas Cowboys' 24-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins in the Hall of Fame Game on Sunday night that opened the NFL's preseason.

"Any time you can give young players an extra chance to play in a game, they grow," Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett told reporters after the game. "With an extra preseason game, it makes sense to give those young guys an opportunity to play."

It was a night that honored legends who were inducted into the 50th anniversary class, which included former Cowboys coach Bill Parcels and former lineman in Larry Allen. Holloman almost did a dance, but decided not to do it that way.

"I had a celebration in my mind, but I was overwhelmed and decided to celebrate with my teammates," he said. "I thought about it the whole way here and it actually happened," Holloman told reporters of him making a big play.

It's a newer defense for Dallas, which is using the Tampa 2 as its base package and it paid off for one week.

"It was fantastic, a really great play from him," Garrett said. "We were swarming to the football, had a lot of guys around the quarterback, and then the ball pops in the air and he makes a great play and great run."
