Grey's Anatomy Might Outlive Its Original Cast: ABC Panel Confirms Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey Contracts To End After Season 10

As "Grey's Anatomy" heads into season 10, ABC Entertainment Group president Paul Lee has voiced the fact that the medical drama could outlive its remaining original cast members, which include Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, Sandra Oh, and James Pickens Jr.

"Shonda is an extraordinary creative force," says Lee on the possible creative struggles should "Grey's Anatomy" season 10 see the outing of all its veteran characters that fans have come to love.

"If I commented on who was coming in and out, I think Shonda would yell at me."

As previously reported, certain actors like Patrick Dempsey have absolutely voiced their boredom with "Grey's Anatomy," especially after 10 seasons.

"I'm not the creator. I'm not the writer... When you're on a show that's been on for, we're coming up to 200 episodes, it's about surviving," says Dempsey regarding "Grey's Anatomy."

"And you find ways to turn yourself on with the material that you're given. But it's like being in a band. You have a specific note that you play, and that's what you do. So you just try to play that as well as you can."

Hm, it certainly seems highly possible that Dempsey is one of several actors who could leave "Grey's Anatomy" after season 10.

"The reality is, she certainly is planning a number of series outs. She will, like she always does, bring changes that are extraordinary. We would certainly like to see it on the network for many years to come."

What do you think? Will the show be the same once, and if, the core cast leaves? Will you keep watching?
