Official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update For Samsung Galaxy S3 Coming; No More 4.2.2 Update

Samsung Galaxy S3 will get an official software update soon -- the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The delay of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update to Samsung Galaxy S3 caused a lot of frustrations to owners of the said device. PC- Tablet reported that some users are voicing their anger and frustrations in various Android forum sites.

But Samsung just released some good news as they reveal that they are currently working on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3, opening the possibility that the device could skip the v4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The post from PC Tablet noted, "If this is the case, it will be a welcome development and would be a perfect gift to the users of Galaxy S3 for their patience."

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean was released on July 24, alongside the unveiling of Google Nexus 7 2. Official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates are already confirmed for several mobile devices such as the Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Z.

Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 were the first few devices to receive Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update after it was released on July.

Some of the features and enhancements that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update will bring include:

  • OpenGL ES 3.0 Graphics
  • Support for Bluetooth Low Energy support
  • Support for Bluetooth Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) 1.3
  • Updated sensor
  • Security enhancements
  • Google Play Game Center
  • Bug fixes

Aside from Samsung Galaxy S3, other devices that will skip Android 4.2.2 firmware and will just go directly to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update are Galaxy Tabs and Galaxy Note 2.
