Simon Cowell, Lauren Silverman Baby Bump Photo: ‘In No Way Did They Intend To Get Pregnant,’ Socialite’s Stepfather Says

Simon Cowell's baby mama made her first public appearance since it was revealed by Us Weekly that the "X Factor" judge and creator is expecting a child with Lauren Silverman. Silverman was sporting a small baby bump on Thursday, August 1.

"She's around 10 weeks along," an insider told Us Weekly.

The 36-year-old, New York socialite was spotted leaving her home in the Hamptons Thursday morning. She was holding the hand of her 7-year-old son, Adam. She was wearing black leggings, a blue cap, white blouse, and sandals. Silverman was also showing off a big smile with a black backpack on her arm. In another outing, she was spotted wearing a black maxi skirt and matching tank top.

When word got out that Silverman was pregnant with Cowell's baby, the scandal went viral. This is because Silverman is still technically married to Simon's best friend, Andrew Silverman, Us Weekly reports. However, Silverman filed divorce papers in New York two weeks ago.

"Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while," a source told Us Weekly. "As their marriage deteriorated, she and Simon became close."

Lauren Silverman's former stepdad told The NY Daily News that the stunning socialite strayed from her husband because he was never around.

"You can't cuddle up at night with your Gucci bags and a credit card," Stewart Eisenberg, 73, said. "She was not happy in a marriage where the husband was never present."

Eisenberg said Lauren Silverman's marriage was already deteriorating before she started getting close to Cowell, The NY Daily News reports.

"I think Cowell was overwhelmed and smitten with Lauren," Eisenberg said. "I think they both had a weak moment and were swept away but in no way did they intend to get pregnant."

Lauren's mother defended her daughter to The Sun, saying: "Lauren is not a gold-digger. She came from a very comfortable family and never lacked for anything."

"Her and Simon are very fond of each other," she continued. "She tells me great things about him and has always spoken very highly of him. I trust Simon to do the right thing by my daughter."
